why?
Why do passport pictures almost always turn out ugly?
I'm having my passport renewed and just got back from the photographer's. I'm stuck with a picture that makes my neck look like it's 5 metres wide for the next 15 years.
I don't mean to sound vain, but I'm usually quite photogenic. In fact, I look better in pictures than I do in person. So why why why do I always look horrible in passport pictures, no matter what I do?
On top of everything, we are no longer allowed to smile in passport pictures. The horror...
For future reference, do you guys have any tips on how to take a good passport picture?
(what to wear, how to sit, how not to look 5 metres thick?)

change your photographer
get a new look as they say now days "new look"
Good idea moryarti...but the passport pics have turned out ugly at every single photographer I've been to (including photo booths):)
Maybe I do need a new look...a new thinner neck..:p
here is a tip .. never pose/look straight into the camera .. keep your head n' shoulders at a 15-20 degrees with camera.
This way, you will get a combination of facial profile and frontal fatures. You will end up with a photo thats warm, relaxed and a lot less like a lineup mugshot
You're right moryarti. But new laws dictate that we need to have mugshot-type photos taken for our passports. Straight on look, no smiling, no touch ups.
Oh well...I guess I'll have to win passport control officers over with my personality!
:p
Hun,
Men are fucked up! really, women aint any better :).. we're all fucked up.. When we dont have something we want it, when we get it, we dont want it anymore!
We're ignorant, pathetic and simply very amatuerish and immature! Im afraid prince charming went into this syndrome (do you really wanna be with someone who doesnt recognize this petty human tendency) and you yourself, uve Seduced urself Out!
Ouch... This is the tricky part. Just deconstruct ur emotions to identify that it isnt really anything beyond lustful immature wanting and desire and not really anything substantial (u know, wat they tell u in girly movies about love and respect and friendship alltogether). :)
in the end of the day dont beat urself up honey, ure still very young and ure gonna have 5 children, so i wouldnt worry about men as much as id worry about c-section if i were you, LoL
Goodluck,
bodhi.
p.S: about the 5, V. told me :) .. she owes my a favour (saved Ae. once, maybe twice, but i know once for sure) and she likes to bitch to me bout her feminine frustrations.
p.pS: be happy
Bodhi, do I know you? Who's V? I'm confused!
Five children? Are you mad? And truth be told, I'd rather worry about men than a c-section! It's definitely not on my priority list these days!
